This state of the art motorsport goggle satisfies multiple demands during a ride: safety, control, convenience…all in an instant. Whether your passion is motor-cross, street cruising, ATV or snowmobiling, the Akari® MGXCEL goggle offers essential eye protection from wind, sand, dirt and most importantly, changing light conditions. This streamlined, lightweight goggle features the patented e-Tint® technology, enabling the rider to change from light to dark tint in less than 1/10th of a second.
The Akari® lens system meets ANSI Z87.1-2010 optical and impact requirements, and U.S. Military ballistic specifications.
e-Tint® technology relies primarily on a liquid crystal system. A mixture of dyes in a liquid crystal host is sandwiched between two curved flexible plastic substrates coated with transparent electrodes. By applying voltage to the substrates, the electro-optic response of the liquid crystal is used to control the tint of the insert.
Automatic/ Manual Tint Control. Your choice.
The MGXCEL goggle can operate in traditional manual mode (on/off) by a simple press of the button, or in automatic, light-sensing mode. A light-sensitive photo cell is built into the operating button, enabling the lens to change tint automatically. This Akari® goggle is also easily programmable to automatically change tint in the lighting condition of your choosing.
Superior Optics. Exceptional Vision.
The Akari® lens system meets ANSI Z87.1-2010 optical and impact requirements, with exceptional UVA/UVB protection. And say goodbye to the frustration of fogged lenses during temperature changes and humidity spikes. The MGXCEL goggle includes a permanent anti-fog coated lens, keeping your vision free and clear.
Military-grade ballistics has you covered.
High-quality and distortion-free polycarbonate lens meets U.S. Military ballistic specifications for eyewear.
Comfort is key.
Robust design and materials protect and perform through all the rigors of motorsport action. The streamlined and edgy design includes direct frame ventilation, a comfortable foam membrane, and an adjustable head strap that can be worn over or under a helmet.
Extended hours of battery operation. Power forward.
The Akari® system relies on an applied voltage to orient the liquid crystals and uses very little current. A fully charged goggle offers at least forty (40) hours of tinted operation, depending on usage. Leave a fully charged pair on the shelf and you will still have tinting power after 4 weeks. The goggle is powered by a lithium battery, and is rechargeable via a supplied micro-USB cable.
Power fails. You don’t.
The MGXCEL goggle is equipped with a “fail-safe” mechanism to ensure your safety. In the event of a power failure, the lens will automatically default to clear.
